Greetings:

The best investment we can make for the future of this organization and the ideas for which we stand is to ensure the welfare of our youth. There is no doubt that the seeds we plant today will be the crop of tomorrow. That is why I come to you for help with my program as Grand Master. I am asking that each lodge sponsor or co-sponsor a youth group. I would prefer it to be a DeMolay Chapter or a Rainbow Assembly. These two groups are directly dependent upon us for support. To facilitate this I am requesting that each district in the state create a Youth Committee. I would like for you to appoint this committee as soon as possible and to introduce a by-law at your convention to permanently create a Youth Committee to assist the lodges in support of these youth organizations. Code section 61-104 covers by-laws for a district and explains how they can be presented. If they are distributed to the lodges sixty (60) days prior to your meeting, they can be voted n at the next convention. If you need any assistance in this endeavor, please contact me or the state organization for any assistance you may need. Thank you in advance for your efforts. I realize that I am asking a lot, but I think the results will be worth it. I look forward to seeing you in my travels.

Fraternally,

Jerry D. Moss

Grand Master of Masons in Georgia

There is a called communication for the Memorial Association of the West End.  After the District Meeting on January 31, 2012 at Amity # 731 we will meet for a few minutes.  WB Mercer Collins has invited the East End Memorial Association to join us.  All Master Masons of the 8th District are invited.  We will welcome any visitors as well.

The Memorial Association is doing well on both ends of the District.  Lodges are donating money to help support this worthy project.  For a bit of information:  There has been a Calling Post account set up for the West End.  We will need your help from time to time and you will be called.  When you are called please RSVP by calling 678-253-5938 and let us know if we can depend on you.

We are asking that an Ambassador from each lodge be appointed to attend all Memorial Association meetings.  Bring this up at your next lodge meeting.

The Memorial Association East End will have a meeting on December 29, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Nancy Hart #690 to elect new officers for the ensuing year.

WE HAVE ELECTED NEW OFFICERS TO STATIONS IN OUR LODGES.  SOME OF THESE NEW OFFICERS ARE ALSO NEW MASONS.  EVERY OFFICER OF EVERY LODGE SHOULD ATTEND ONE OF THE SCHOOLS OF INSTRUCTION THAT WILL BEGIN THE FIRST WEEK IN JANUARY.  THE TWO CUSTODIANS WILL BE HAPPY TO TEACH YOU THE CORRECT WAY IN THE UNIFORM WORK.

January 4, 2012, Wednesday, Golden Fleece #6, WB Mercer Collins will conduct a School of Instruction and each Wednesday and thereafter until further notice.  Refreshments will be served at 6:30 P.M. and the school at 7:00 P.M.  All Master Masons are invited including visitors.  The first night there will be a discussion of the Memorial Association.

January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and February 6, 2012 Primrose # 79, WB Dennis Helmreich will conduct a School of Instruction each Monday.  There will be a meal at 7:00 P.M. and the school at 7:30 P.M.  All Master Masons are invited and visitors are also welcome.

The District Worshipful Master, Dan Whitener has made an appeal for a contribution of $5.00 per member to be sent to the District Secretary, Julian Hayes for a donation to the Masonic Home to be presented to the Grand Master, Jerry Moss at the convention.

So far the lodges that have sent in money have sent more than $5.00 per member.  Remember when you send in your check make it out to the 8th Masonic District.
